I
want to use Wegener's Liquid for indoor gardening. How should I use it?
Wegener's
is best used on soilless mix for indoor gardening. Prepare your soilless mix
and fill your pots. Mix 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of Wegener's for each litre (US
quart) of water in your watering can. Soak the soilless mix until you see some
nutrient running from the bottom of the pot. Repeat the application every two
weeks when plants are smaller and more often as they grow.
Why
won't Wegener's Liquid damage my plants if I use too much?
Wegener's
Liquid is made from natural organic elements and will not harm plants, even if
you apply it many times the recommended strength. Remember Wegener's Liquid
gets diluted 200 times before you apply it to your plants. Even if you were to
use three times the recommended amount, your plants will not be harmed. If you
apply the concentrate, undiluted, directly on your plants you may see to much
organic activity which can have adverse effects.
I
want to grow award winning organic flowers.
Wegener's
Liquid grows amazing flowers. Apply initially to the root zone to get nutrition
to the roots. During the vegetative growth (like when growing roses) you can
apply a regular misting of Wegener's Liquid to the leaves. Consumable flowers
and herbs should have Wegener's Liquid applied to only the foliage (not the
flower) once they have started to develop.
Why
does fruit and vegetables taste better when grown with Wegener's Liquid?
Wegener's
Liquid uses the natural organic cycle in the soil to provide essential plant
nutrition. Tests have shown that the Brix level (natural sugar content) is
increased in fruit and vegetables grown using Wegener's Liquid. A higher Brix
level means your product will taste better and last longer.
Can
I use Wegener's Liquid with other fertilizers?
Wegener's
Liquid is compatible with all other fertilizers and pesticides. Many growers
and market gardeners use Wegener's Liquid in conjunction with their pest
prevention as Wegener's Liquid acts as an excellent "sticker" enabling growers
to actually apply lower amounts of pesticide.
Why
does Wegener's Liquid get absorbed so quickly into soilless mix, hard garden
dirt and lawns?
Wegener's
Liquid has similar properties to the best wetting agents. A Wegener's Liquid
mixture will easily penetrate hard soil and lawns. Regular applications will
actually improve the soil drainage making Wegener's ideal for golf courses,
lawns, orchards and gardens. The increased microbial activity further improves
the soil conditions increasing oxygen and promoting better, deeper root growth
giving increased drought resistance.
What
is the best way to apply Wegener's to my lawn?
Wegener's
can be applied using a dial sprayer on the end of your garden hose, or applied
using a backpack sprayer. You want to apply Wegener's Liquid at a rate of one
litre (US quart) per 3000 sq. ft. You can apply it diluted or in a slightly
more concentrated level. The best response will come from regularly applying a
light spray over the lawn after each cutting. Wegener's Liquid will add the
necessary organic elements to enable your lawn thatch to compost right on your
lawn. This results in very nice lawns.
I
have been using chemical fertilizer on my lawn for years, how will it respond
to Wegener's Liquid?
Rescuing
a chemically fertilized lawn requires several growing seasons. Chemical
fertilizer initially boosts the nutrient resulting in fast quick greening and
growing, but resulting in poor soil structure in the root zone. As soon as the
chemical supply is diminished your lawn will slow down in growth and start to
yellow out. Chemical fertilizer leaches away from the root zone faster than
Wegener's. Wegener's Liquid provides a more even plant nutrition resulting in
uniform growth and a healthy natural green color. Because Wegener's improves
the soil, the lawn will have better drought resistance, better resistance to
people traffic and will stay green late into the season. Each application of
Wegener's Liquid to a previously chemical fertilized lawn will bring the lawn
closer to having a natural balance.
Wegener's
Liquid is safe for the birds, bees and kids, why?
Wegener's
Liquid is nontoxic containing natural organic components. You will find that
some insects will be attracted to the concentrated Wegener's Liquid because of
its nutritional elements. Worms will seek it out, as will birds who like the
worms.
How
do I use Wegener's on my house plants?
Wegener's
Liquid is the best choice for house plants. We all have spent time changing the
dirt in our house plants because it has a build up of harmful levels of
chemical fertilizer and salts. Using diluted Wegener's Liquid will maintain
healthy soil, even in small plant pots. This makes Wegener's Liquid ideal for
both home use and commercial plant maintenance. Healthy roots make healthy
plants.
How
long can I store Wegener's Liquid?
Wegener's
Liquid will last a long time in its original bottle. It is sterile but organic
in nature so it is important not to get any water into the concentrate. DO NOT
store diluted Wegener's Liquid for this reason. Always mix up only what you
need. DO NOT FREEZE. If some of the components of Wegener's Liquid settle out
of solution because the storage time is long, you simply give the bottle a good
shake to re-mix things.
Can
I use Wegener's Liquid for growing certified Organic product?
Wegener's
Liquid has gotten approval from local chapters of the OCIA for the growing of
organic product where soil or tissue analysis indicates a deficiency of
minerals. Each organic certification organization seems to have their own set
of criteria for what constitutes organic gardening, both in terms of cultural
practice and nutrient composition, so check your local rules. Wegener's Liquid
is a convenient way to get the best of both worlds, controlled plant nutrition
and clean healthy produce.
